History

Nargear owner and founder George Randall Crone, aka Ran Crone, spent his early adult years living between Hawaii, Alaska, and Montana as an artist, athlete, career firefighter, and action-adventurer. Ran first became a Red Carded Firefighter in 1995 with Alasaka DNRC in Tazlina Alaska. He worked in all fields of fire operations including engines, helicopters, Type 2 hand crews, and Type 1 IHC Hotshot crews before getting picked up and working with the USFS Smokejumpers (Parachuting Firefighters) during the years 2000 through 2013. Professionally firefighting from the Mexican border to above the Arctic Circle including locations such as Florida and rope climbing assignments in New York City. When not working for the Feds (Federal Government) in FIRE you could find Ran surfing the notorious North Shore of Oahu and onwards north to snowboard the rugged unforgiving nar nar in the pow pow North Shore of snowboarding, Chugach mountain range of Valdez Alaska, tagging first accents and first descents. He later went on to finish out his snow tour in the Swiss and French Alps.

While enjoying life immersed in his numerous activities to name some examples such as surfing, snowboarding, scuba diving, photography, mountain biking, kayaking, green horse breaking, rock climbing, ice climbing, wing suiting, piloting aircraft, skydiving, tactical firearm safety, archery, bow hunting, and firefighting he was and is currently still continuously tweaking and improving his gear, his NARGEAR. NARGEAR WAS BORN…!

Ran has taken that same non-fail equipment attitude from his activities such as skydiving where equipment failure is not an option to his products maintaining the highest quality possible for you. Please Enjoy…
